Welcome to Belgaum Next - City of Pride

JobAbility Conclave in Belgaum on 9th August.

On Tuesday, Aug 9, Belgaumnext in association with theJobCorp is organizing Job Ability Conclave where we would like to interact with Students, Principals, Placement Officers and faculties from Engineering, MBA, BBA, BCA/BCom/BA/B.Sc/Diploma colleges and students from IT education centres.

Rajeev Topannavar of Belgaumnext said in a press release that the interactive discussions would help to understand the aspirations of students in Belgaum for jobs, the types of jobs available locally, and to discuss current employability trends in India. Every young student needs to be empowered with skills that will help him or her get a job. Today, there is still a huge need for skilled manpower in Retail, Insurance, Education, Banking, Hospitality, Hospital Administration, Telecom and the Automotive Industry.

India faces a huge challenge where we have over a 100 million youth between the ages of 18 and25. Many of these young graduates are unemployed – mainly because of the gap in our current education system that does not prepare them well enough to get a job in the real world. Having a degree or special diplomas is not always enough to get a good job.

theJobCorp is an employability solutions company that works with both colleges and corporates to help them bridge the gap and to make our graduates more employable.

theJobCorp has worked with 300 colleges and helped thousands of graduates find jobs in multi national companies across the country.

Recently, theJobCorp has partnered with the National Skills Development Corporation to train 20 lakh people in employability skills over the next 10 years through its subsidiary, Job Skills Solutions (Pvt) Ltd.

We would like Belgaum to be the premier destination for companies to hire talent from Belgaum said Rajeev Topannavar

New Garden to come up in heart of the city

A garden to come up on the stores yard of City Corporation situated near Khanjar Galli Belgaum, its a good initiative by the City corporation of Belgaum as this place was not used properly and there was a lot of waste and garbage, moreover it will be good for people of the city centre coz they don't have any recreational activities in this part of the city, children and women of the city part did not have any places to go as the city is old and there were no gardens, parks and playgrounds in this area. its definitely a welcome development.

Let’s face it - cities across India are a mess. They are a living proof of the ills that shortsightedness, greed and the lack of a transparent system can do to a developing nation. In Belgaum, we now have the opportunity to think and act differently in the wake of the chaotic development witnessed in cities around the country. This opportunity stems from the fact that we haven’t yet reached the threshold beyond which things spiral beyond control. We have precious little time to truly apply the theories, principles, practices and attitudes that can make for a city that is sustainable. A city we can be proud of. One that stands out as an example of balanced progress because we the people and its key stakeholders decided to act: not just for us but also for future generations to come. It’s time we take Belgaum to the next level.

Belgaum Next is a people’s endeavour to bridge the gap between good and bad governance on the strength of an open citizen’s platform and is steered by passionate people from across Industry, government, academia and other organizations. The platform stands for one voice that is focused on one agenda: the all round development of our city. Where every voice has weight and no idea is considered too small.
